About JR Hopkins

Hey everyone,

I'm JR (and Jacqueline) and I love to travel and take pictures of what I see around me. I'm also a multi-genre published author of books set in places/states I've lived.

A lot of people, though, call me Jacque-of-all-trades because of my interests throughout my 67 years. I like to combine them--from writing books set in places I've lived or visited, to photographing sunrises, sunsets, and nature to traveling to creating digital products for the fellow writer, to spending time with my kids and grandkids.

The travel bug bit me very early in my life when my father would take us back to Oklahoma every four years to see the relatives or take us camping with other families every weekend. while growing up in Idaho.

Then, since graduating high school, I've traveled by myself and eventually wound up in the US Navy (for seven years) with my first duty station out of boot camp (Orlando, FL) at the Naval Air Station at Keflavik, Iceland. What an awesome place to get to live for an entire year exploring the island with lots of pictures to show for it.

I've ended up living in ten of the US states, Iceland, and visiting two other countries--Canada and England.

And then, besides traveling across the US while in the Navy due to other station moves, I've been to just about every state. As a nomad, my bucket list is to go to all of them, documenting them as I go.

So, I hope to be your one-stop shop for all things relating to book reading, book writing, travel, photography, digital products.

I create travel puzzle books and create videos of my travels under my YouTube channel The Nomad Writer.
