The Recoleta Model United Nations (RecoMUN) conference began its journey in 2019, establishing itself as a space for dialogue and learning for young delegates. To date, three editions have been held: 2019, 2020, and 2022. During its inaugural edition, RecoMUN brought together over 500 delegates from various schools and featured 10 committees. In 2020, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the second edition was successfully held with five committees. Subsequently, in 2022, the third edition took place with the participation of nine committees.
The conference serves as a cornerstone in the academic and personal development of Recoleta students. As an initiative led by the Recoleta Debate Team (RDT), RecoMUN embodies our educational community’s commitment to fostering leadership, collaboration, and active participation in international models.
RecoMUN is not merely a platform for practical learning about the dynamics of the United Nations; it is also a gateway to understanding the global challenges we face as a society. For us, this conference transcends the academic sphere, becoming a space that strengthens social responsibility and empowers students to become agents of change within their communities. In this sense, RecoMUN is more than just an event—it is a tradition that reflects the values and vision of our institution toward building a more equitable and collaborative world.
