Detroit Book City (2026) is a small, black-owned independent online and travel/pop-up Bookstore that specialize & market primarily African American books and media for the family. We carry new adult and children's books i.e. self-help, black-consciousness, spiritual, how-to's, urban-fiction, memoirs, biographies & much more!!! We also sell rare books, e-books, vintage magazines, records, art, t-shirts, and tote bags.

Since our inception January 2016, Detroit Book City was an important resource for Black Indie Authors searching for platforms to promote and sell their books. Detroit Book City has helped over 300 authors reach avid readers across Metro Detroit searching for African-American written adult and children's books. They have exhibited at our book fairs for a 10-year span--and we are now retired from this service.

Today, we attract approximately 20,000 readers to our website each month to buy books! We hope you find a GREAT Read today.
