Stop Measuring Growth the Wrong Way

Real growth isn’t loud — it’s the boundaries you set and the peace you protect.

Stop Measuring Growth the Wrong Way

Real growth isn’t loud — it’s the boundaries you set and the peace you protect.

What Does Growth Really Mean? Rethinking Success in a World Obsessed With “More”.

We talk about growth as if it’s a straight line—upwards, measurable, impressive. A bigger bank balance. A nicer car. The designer handbag you once saved for. The holiday that proves you’ve “made it.”

But what if growth isn’t always loud, shiny, or Instagrammable?

What if the most meaningful growth is the kind no one else sees?

Growth as an Inner Shift, Not an Outer Trophy. For years, many of us have been taught to measure growth by accumulation. More money. More things. More achievements. But real growth often looks like subtraction, not addition.

• Letting go of people-pleasing

• Releasing old stories that kept you small

• Unlearning habits that drained your energy

• Saying “no” without guilt

• Choosing rest over hustle

• Listening to your body instead of overriding it

These aren’t glamorous milestones. They don’t come with applause. But they change your life in ways a handbag never could.

Growth Is Learning to Choose Yourself - There’s a quiet kind of power in choosing yourself—your peace, your boundaries, your wellbeing.

Growth is:

Saying “I can’t do that right now”

• Leaving a conversation that feels heavy

• Walking away from what no longer aligns

Prioritizing your mental and emotional health

• Allowing yourself to evolve without needing permission

It’s not selfish. It’s self-respect.

Growth is understanding that your body is not an obstacle—it’s a guide.

Growth Is Redefining Success on Your Own Terms - Maybe success is the holiday, the handbag, the financial freedom. There’s nothing wrong with wanting beautiful things or celebrating your wins.

But success can also be:

Waking up without anxiety

• Feeling safe in your own skin

• Having relationships that nourish you

• Creating a life that feels aligned, not just impressive

Trusting yourself deeply

Growth is when you stop chasing someone else’s definition of success and start living your own.

So… How Do You Measure Growth?

Not by what you have.

Not by what you can show.

Not by what others applaud.

Measure growth by how you feel.

By how you treat yourself.

By how you honour your boundaries.

By how you respond to challenges.

By how deeply you trust your own voice.

Growth is an inside job.

And the more you nurture it, the more your outer world naturally shifts to match.

Take a moment today to pause.

Breathe.

Ask yourself: What does growth look like for me right now?

It might be something no one else sees — and that’s okay. You’re evolving in your own beautiful way.

Nature’s Canvas: When the Sky Turns to Flames

This morning’s sunrise was nothing short of spectacular. As the first light crept over the horizon, the sky transformed into a living canvas, ablaze with hues of pink, orange, and yellow. Each colour seemed to melt into the next, creating a symphony of warmth that felt almost otherworldly. The clouds caught the glow like brushstrokes of fire, drifting slowly as if they too were pausing to admire the moment. For a brief while, the world seemed to hold its breath. The air was cool and crisp, carrying with it a quiet stillness that invited reflection. In that silence, possibility hung heavy — as though the day ahead had yet to be written, and the sunrise was offering a gentle reminder that beginnings are always full of promise. There is something profoundly powerful about starting the day with such beauty. It reminds us that no matter the challenges waiting, the world continues to gift us moments of awe. A sunrise is more than light breaking the darkness; it is a daily invitation to notice, to appreciate, and to carry that sense of wonder into everything we do.

Nature As Brain Fuel: the Science Behind My Daily Walks

Published December 2025

What if I told you the secret to unlocking your deepest creative potential isn’t a new app or a fancy course, but something you can find right outside your door?

I used to think I needed more input — more podcasts, more productivity hacks, more caffeine. But the real breakthrough came when I started walking. Not for fitness. Not for errands. Just walking. Slowly. Curiously. Open-hearted.

What the Science Says:

Stanford researchers discovered that “a person’s creative output increased by an average of 60 percent when walking.” Their 2014 study* compared creativity levels while walking versus sitting — and the results were striking.

This isn’t just poetic. It’s physiological.

Walking boosts divergent thinking, the kind of thinking that helps you generate new ideas and solve problems creatively.

Natural environments reduce mental fatigue, allowing your brain to reset and refocus.

Movement increases blood flow to the brain, especially the prefrontal cortex — the area responsible for planning, decision-making, and imagination.

Even Steve Jobs was known for his walking meetings. Einstein walked the beach to solve complex problems. And now, neuroscience confirms what artists and philosophers have known for centuries: movement fuels the mind!

Creativity Isn’t Just for Artists — It’s for Everyone

I’m not just talking about artists when I speak of creativity — I’m speaking to the soul’s power to shape, heal, and reveal — the part of you that chooses what to wear in the morning, how to comfort a friend, how to arrange the groceries in your pantry so they feel like a ritual instead of a chore.

Creativity is the quiet instinct that nudges you toward a new route home, a different spice in your soup, a fresh way to say, “I love you.”

It’s not about output. It’s about orientation.

It’s how you move through the world with curiosity, with care, with a willingness to see things differently.

And that’s why walking in nature is so powerful. It doesn’t just clear your mind — it reconnects you to your inner compass. The one that says:

You are free to take your time. To walk at your own pace. To feel what you need to feel. To let the quiet speak louder than the noise.” — Morgan Harper Nichols

When I walk, I’m not trying to “come up with” anything. I’m letting creativity come through. Sometimes it’s a new idea for a project. Sometimes it’s a gentle reminder to rest. Sometimes it’s just the joy of noticing a leaf shaped like a heart.

That, too, is creative.

What I Noticed:

• My thoughts stopped racing.

• Ideas started arriving unannounced — like birds landing on a quiet branch.

• I began to feel my way through creative blocks instead of forcing solutions.

My Walking Ritual

• I leave my phone behind or switch to airplane mode.

• I walk the same path often — familiarity breeds safety, and safety breeds creativity.

• I sometimes carry a small notebook or use voice memos to capture ideas that bubble up.

Occasionally I walk with a question in mind. At times I walk with nothing at all. Either way, I return with more than I left with.

That’s exactly what walking gives me: space to breathe, to listen, and to bloom.

May your walks be more than movement — may they be moments of remembering.

Of returning to the quiet wisdom within.

Of letting creativity rise not from pressure, but from presence.

You don’t have to chase inspiration.

Just step outside.

Let the wind rearrange your thoughts.

Let the earth remind you:

You are already blooming.

Not For Validation - Just Showing Up

Published November 2025

My posts aren’t polished like the 99.9% of influencers out there.

My videos don’t rack up thousands of views.

Comments? Minimal. Shares? Rare.

So what.

There’s so much pressure to be the best, look the best.

People start chasing perfection—not because it feels good,

but because they think it’s the only way to be seen, heard, or valued.

They seek validation just to keep going.

I’m not part of the pressure posse.

I don’t create for applause. I create for alignment.

I show up every day—for me.

And yes—validation does create a feel-good moment.

It’s backed by brain chemistry**.

When we receive praise or recognition, our brain releases dopamine,

the “reward” neurotransmitter that makes us feel good.

Sometimes oxytocin and endorphins join in too—boosting connection and mood.

But here’s the thing:

I don’t wait for someone else to flip that switch: I’ve learned to generate it from within.

I’m not chasing validation. I’m building consistency.

I’m not performing. I’m practicing presence.

This space is mine.

My voice. My rhythm. My truth.

If you’re here, welcome.

If you’re not, I’m still here.

Empowerment isn’t loud. It’s steady.

And I’m proud to be steady.

Let’s keep showing up—for ourselves...let’s walk it together. Quietly. Steadily. Authentically.

**Validation creates a feel-good moment—and it’s not just emotional, it’s chemical. Studies show that dopamine, our brain’s reward messenger, lights up when we’re seen, praised, or acknowledged. But I’ve learned not to rely on that external spark. I generate it from within.

Rooted In the Unexpected

Rooted In the Unexpected

A quiet reflection on resilience healing, and the beauty of growing where no one thought possible.

ROOTED IN THE UNEXPECTED

This morning, I paused to admire a tiny plant growing from the trunk of a palm tree. No soil, no garden bed—just sheer will and grace. It reminded me that healing doesn’t always happen in perfect conditions. Sometimes, we root ourselves in the cracks, stretch toward light, and thrive anyway.

This little plant didn’t wait for ideal circumstances. It found strength in the rough bark, nourishment in the shadows, and dared to grow where no one expected it. That’s resilience. That’s hope.

We don’t always choose the terrain we’re given. But we can choose to grow. To anchor ourselves in truth, reach for joy, and bloom in defiance of the odds.

Here’s to the quiet miracles. The unexpected growth. The beauty of showing up—even when the world says we shouldn’t.

Autumn Grace: A Season for Softness

Autumn Grace: A Season for Softness

As the days shorten and the air turns crisp, nature reminds us that slowing down is not a failure—it’s a rhythm. Trees shed their leaves not in haste, but in quiet surrender. The sun lingers a little less, and the earth leans into rest.

This season, let yourself do the same.

Grace is the gentle art of allowing. It’s the permission to be tender with yourself when the world feels fast, demanding, or loud. It’s the quiet strength of saying: “I’m doing my best, and that’s enough.”

Here are 5 ways to practice grace this autumn:

1. Sip slowly. Choose warm, grounding drinks—herbal infusions, golden milk, cinnamon-spiced cacao, or a vibrant cup of Nutriplus Matcha Tea. Its earthy richness and gentle lift invite presence with every sip. Let this be your moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

2. Wrap yourself in comfort. Cosy textures, soft layers, and hygge-inspired spaces help your nervous system feel safe and soothed. Think wool socks, soft throws, and candlelit corners.

3. Light with intention. Candles, salt lamps, or fairy lights can transform your space into a sanctuary. Let light be a balm for darker evenings and emotional heaviness.

4. Journal with kindness. Instead of “to-do” lists, try “I’m proud I…” or “Today I honoured myself by…” prompts. Grace blooms when we shift our inner dialogue from pressure to praise.

5. Let go gently. Release what no longer serves—habits, expectations, or self-talk that feels heavy. Like leaves, let them fall. You might even write them down and burn the page as a ritual of release.

Want to deepen your grace practice? Try these gentle rituals:

Nature resets. Walk slowly through fallen leaves, paddle in a stream, or stargaze wrapped in a blanket. Let the earth’s rhythm recalibrate your own.

Move with softness. Swap intense workouts for restorative yoga, stretching, or intuitive movement like Qigong. Grace lives in how we honour our body’s signals.

Digital detox moments. Create tech-free windows to breathe, reflect, or simply be. Grace often arrives in silence.

Speak with compassion. Replace “I should have…” with “I did what I could.” Your words matter—especially the ones you say to yourself.

You don’t need to hustle to be worthy. You don’t need to glow to be growing. Grace is your quiet superpower.

So breathe deep. Be soft. And trust that this season is working in your favour—even if it’s asking you to pause.

"You can’t always be blooming. Sometimes you’re just gathering strength for what’s next." — Morgan Harper Nichols

You are worthy of the quiet moment. You are worthy of the deeper breath. You are worthy of the time it takes to slow down, be still, and rest.

You are free to take your time. You are free to rest. You are free to let things go.
