beginning at 9 years old, R8ISH downloaded DJ mobile apps such as eDJing and Drums Pads 24. as a kid, he was inspired by EDM and Rap. from this inspiration, the young artist posted his songs on YouTube for friends and family.
inevitably reguiding his focus to create for himself and the world, he began creating under the name R8ISH in 2020 while continuing to post his songs to YouTube. released february 10, 2021, we saw the very first YouTube album released by the artist, “Life’s A Mess.” this project marked the beginning of an extensive journey towards a greater purpose.
during his teen years, he began looking to put his songs on streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, etc.- his first being a single from his YouTube-exclusive album “Salutations.” this eventually led to his debut project on stores being “808’s & Harmony”, a spin-off of Kanye West’s fourth studio album “808’s & Heartbreak.” releasing independently, his progress eventually resulted in him buying his first computer to make music in april 2023. he then went on to release countless albums to various streaming platforms, his first entirely computer-made album being “Abyss”, where “BHS (Broken Heart Syndrome)” and all others followed.
around this time, inspiration for his songs took a dramatic turn to face the world of Hip-Hop, LoFi music, Rock, and Pop, with Hip-Hop overtaking the primary inspiration of electronic music. key artists include modern hip-hop legends such as Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD, Takeoff (and the Migos), as well as a more niche and melodic roster of individuals like Dro Kenji and DC THE DON.
following a prompt rebrand in early 2026, the independent artist began making more consistent efforts in broadening his reach. with a modest 500 subscribers on YouTube, he has built a small but loyal fanbase as he continues to rise. furthermore, he has gained moderate attention from friends and followers, totalling more than 880K overall streams across platforms. In march of 2026, the artist began receiving greater attention, gaining around 100 subscribers in that month alone, while tremendously boosting overall view count. it's expected that this pattern will continue as he steadily grows both as an artist and as a person.
on his high school graduation day, may 24, 2026, he released his album GRADUATION, where his school played the outro song FOR THE REAL ONES during the ceremony.
in search of a clean slate, the artist began removing old releases that didn’t match who he was or what he created anymore. by the end of june of 2026, the artist had narrowed his discography down to 1 album (being “GRADUATION”), its two lead singles, and 5 singles released at the beginning of the same year. now, he plans on putting his best effort into his music as he continues to make his way up in the world.
