Riverside Goldens is a purpose-driven breeding program dedicated to raising Golden Retrievers who are healthy, intelligent, and deeply devoted. We focus on preserving the breed’s hallmark traits—trainability, soundness, and steady, loving nature—while giving each puppy the best possible start in life to grow into a trusted companion who can excel as a friend, in performance venues, or a faithful hunting partner.
The foundation of our program is a steadfast commitment to health, soundness, and responsible breeding. To achieve this, we carefully searched nationwide for the healthiest dogs, verifying multiple generations of OFA certifications for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart, along with comprehensive genetic testing to support long-term vitality. We also prioritize maintaining a low coefficient of inbreeding (COI) to preserve genetic diversity and overall well-being. Just as importantly, we are dedicated to upholding true breed type and temperament, with our dogs actively titled to showcase their natural abilities and versatility. By holding ourselves to these standards, we aim to give every Riverside Golden the strongest start possible for a long, vibrant life.
Every puppy born here is nurtured in a family environment, surrounded by love, structure, and gentle guidance from day one. Utilizing Avidog protocols, we emphasize socialization, with every puppy receiving Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), alongside additional enrichment methods to ensure each pup is prepared to thrive in their forever home as confident, well-adjusted companions who are ready to become part of a family.
Riverside Goldens is not a large kennel; we are intentionally small. Our focus is never on quantity, but on quality, intention, and wholehearted care—producing Golden Retrievers who will be cherished members of the family for years to come. Because we are committed to providing every dog with the attention, structure, and environment they deserve, we have only one dam, and therefore welcome only one to two litters each year. As responsible breeders, our dogs health and well-being is of utmost importance to us; as such, we do not allow breedings before two years of age, as large breeds are not physically nor mentally mature before then, nor can they receive all the recommended health tests before then, and breeding would be unethical.
Above all, our dogs are family. Their place with us is lifelong, not conditional. We never sell or rehome our parent dogs once their breeding career is over; they stay with us, loved and included, for the entirety of their lives.
And so, when you welcome a Riverside Golden pup into your home, you’re not just bringing home a dog—you’re welcoming a piece of our heart.
