Hi, I'm Marité

Certified Personal Trainer. Certified Nutritionist. Fitness Coach. Nutritional Coach. NPC Bikini Competitor. Weekend Runner.

Fitness was the doorway. Transformation became the destination.

I've been in the fitness space for over 7 years, but not in the "I've always been athletic" type way. My story started where a lot of women find themselves: feeling stuck in a body that I wasn't proud of.

At 18, I was mentally at my lowest and physically at my heaviest. Battling depression, anxiety, and 60 extra pounds, I felt unhappy with myself and my life, unmotivated, and completely lost trying to figure it out with whatever information I could find online. I didn't have access to a coach, gym mentor, or a perfectly supportive environment. What I did have was curiosity, a willingness to try, and a vision for the person I wanted to become.

What began as an effort to change my body changed my life. Fitness paved a path to building confidence, forming resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Since then, I've gone from:

• Overweight → Nationally qualified physique competitor (NPC bikini)

• Being disconnected from school → UW Foster School of Business graduate

• Rejected from jobs → Building my own coaching business & brand

• Searching for purpose → Creating a career helping others own their potential

Through movement and proper nourishment, I learned how to show up for myself again. Now, my mission is to help others do the same: to build strength, excitement for the journey, and confidence from the inside out.

I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to start and stop, to Google every question, and to feel like nothing is "working". I also know what happens when you get the right guidance, the right plan, and someone who actually understands where you're starting from.

Now, having made it through the other side, with years of nutrition, training, and mindset knowledge, this is how I pay it forward to support others.

As a Cert. Nutritionist...

I’ll help you understand what your body truly needs to look, feel, and perform its best - grounded in science (evidence-based), not social media trends. Together, we'll focus on nourishment that supports your goals, hormones, and long-term health.

As a Nutrition Coach...

I won't just throw a macro plan and say 'good luck'. I’ll work with you and teach you the skills to make food work for your lifestyle. My goal is to help you build sustainable habits that feel balanced and empowering, without making nutrition feel obsessive or restrictive.

As a Personal Trainer...

I’ll make sure you’re not just going through the motions, but connecting to your body through precision, intent, and proper execution. You’ll learn to move with strength, awareness, and confidence.

As a Bikini Athlete...

My Untold Truth

The Breaking Point

Middle school was supposed to be lighthearted.

For me, it was the opposite.

The bullying was relentless.

I became an easy target, and eventually, I stopped attending school altogether.

Depression and anxiety pressed down on me until I could barely recognize myself.

My confidence collapsed, and so did my sense of self.

I never graduated.

Never even got my middle school diploma.

And the night of graduation,

the night every other kid was celebrating,

I hit my lowest point:

at 14, I attempted to take my life.

I don’t share that for shock value.

I share it because surviving that moment changed me.

It shifted something deep inside me that I wouldn’t fully understand until years later.

When you come that close to losing everything,

you stop taking life and every opportunity for granted.

That night became the first crack in my sense of self…

but it was also the quiet seed of someone I would eventually become:

someone who gives her all,

who doesn’t wait for permission,

who fights for her future because she knows how fragile the alternative is.

I didn’t see it then,

but that moment marked the beginning of my transformation.

Lesson: When you lose yourself, life invites you to rebuild yourself on your own terms.

Slipping Through the Cracks

High school wasn't much better.

The emotional weight: shame, sadness, and burnout followed me.

I slowly slipped through the cracks of the school system and avoided school all over again.

I hit a crossroads that everyone eventually meets:

Stay stuck, or choose something different.

Fail traditional high school and get my GED, or become resourceful and figure my way out of the situation.

That was my first "anti-vision."

The version of myself I refused to become.

Lesson: We all need an anti-vision to align new actions to go forward.

Reclaiming My Education and Myself

At 17, I enrolled in a high school retrieval program called Career Link.

I expected worksheets and attendance sheets.

What I didn’t expect was:

“Who are you?”

For the first time, someone asked me to look inward.

Personality tests.

Self-reflection.

Owning my story instead of running from it.

This wasn't education.

This was awakening.

It taught me the lesson I coach with today:

You can't change your life until you know where you currently stand.

That was my turning point.

Not because I got back on track...

But because I realized I could lead my life.

I earned my high school diploma against the odds and gained something more important:

A sense of self.

I started imagining a future beyond survival, and this vision anchored my every action.

Lesson: You can’t change your life until you’re willing to look at your truth.

The Weight of Unawareness

Even while healing, I didn't fully know myself yet.

I stayed in a relationship that didn't align with the life I wanted.

I gained weight again due to a lack of awareness and social support. (Mindset, habits, choices, and my environment shaped )

I didn't know how to choose for myself yet.

My self-worth was still being shaped by others.

I wasn’t grounded in who I was or what I needed, not yet.

The Shift

One nutrition class changed everything.

Small choices led to walks.

Walks into group classes.

Group classes to the dumbell rack.

I started taking small steps toward caring for myself.

Then came the breakup.

And instead of collapsing like before, I held myself together.

I leaned on a friend who introduced me to the weight room, and from there,

the gym became the first place I felt powerful again.

Lesson: Tiny choices build momentum because small, consistent actions accumulate over time, creating a positive feedback loop of progress, confidence, and motivation.

Strength as Self-Discovery

I showed up when it was awkward.

I showed up when I felt alone.

I showed up because something in me knew I was capable of more.

The gym became my therapy. Through fitness, I found structure.

Through structure and routine, I formed an identity with new values.

I earned a scholarship, went to business school, and trained through it all.

I studied like my future depended on it… because it did.

From Student to Coach & Entrepreneur

While in business school, something in me kept pulling toward a different path.

I showed up to every lecture, took notes, studied hard...

but the truth was, none of it lit me up the way creating did.

In my coding classes, I mocked up websites for the fitness company I dreamed of building.

In entrepreneurship courses, I sketched out ideas for businesses that actually felt like me.

Beauty brands. Clothing lines. Software apps. Coaching visions.

If it allowed me to create, I was drawn to it.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was moving toward the work that brought me home to my gifts —

the part of me that loves to build, innovate, and turn ideas into something real.

And while all of this was unfolding

fitness became the first place where my creativity had a voice.

It wasn’t “just fitness.”

It was my anchor.

My structure.

My canvas.

Helping people feel strong lit something in me I couldn’t ignore.

I started sharing videos, tips, and workouts online — just small expressions of my passion.

People resonated with it.

And for the first time, my creativity wasn’t just mine… it was impact.

It gave me purpose.

It gave me direction.

It showed me that creation and contribution were meant to go together.

Lesson: When you follow the work that lights you up, you’re not just choosing a career, you’re contributing your authentic gifts to the world. Creation becomes a form of service, and through it, you become part of something bigger than yourself.

Fired for Filming, Freed to Build

After college, job after job in the corporate arena rejected me.

I turned back to personal training, started working at a gym... and got fired for filming my own workouts.

It couldv't crushed me.

Instead, it freed me.

It forced me to ask: "What am I really here to do?"

Lesson: Rejection is often the redirect you need but would never choose on your own.

Becoming

I had tried to fit into every mold: the perfect student, the loyal girlfriend, the good daughter, the ideal employee.

But fitness was the first thing that helped me shape who I wanted to become.

I entered a bodybuilding competition.

Placed second in every class.

Qualified nationally.

But the real win wasn't the stage - it was the proof:

I can do hard things.

On my terms.

Because I discovered and built myself,

from the inside out.

A strong foundation from years of quiet work.

Shape. Form. Own.

Shape & Form isn’t just a coaching method. It’s my life story in three words:

Shape the body

Form the identity

Own the life

Fitness was the doorway.

The real transformation was emotional, spiritual, and internal.

And now, my purpose is to help others do the same:

To shape their bodies, form new beliefs, and own the version of themselves they once thought was out of reach.

Lesson: Becoming isn’t about who you were told to be — it’s about choosing who you want to be next.

The Overarching Lesson of My Journey

Transformation begins when you understand yourself.

And deepens when you choose to build from that truth.

Growth is a process.

Self-understanding is the gateway.

Transformation is the result.

You only get one life.

One lifetime to become all that you’re capable of being.

I’m here today because I had support, emotional strength,

and a reason to keep going.

I didn’t do this alone, and you don’t have to, either.

Your body, your habits, your mindset…

They are all reflections of the relationship you have with yourself.

And I hope you discover, as I did,

that you are your greatest project —

and your greatest possibility.
