I built this FAQ to save time. These are the questions I hear most often from leaders, founders, executives, and investors. Instead of repeating myself in every first call, email, or DM, you’ll find clear, direct answers here. My focus is protecting margins, scaling distribution, and preparing brands for scrutiny.
Consultants advise from the sidelines behind laptops and have never picked up a case in backstock. I operate from the inside, hands-on. I bridge strategy with execution, protect margins, validate velocity with depletion and sell-through data, and unlock access across the 3-tier system to strengthen acquisition readiness and enterprise value. I’ve led P&Ls, negotiated with distributors and retailers, built global networks, and delivered exits. My approach is grounded in rolling up my sleeves and executing at the ground-level, not business theories.
Almost everything after liquid is in the bottle. That includes freight and 3PL, distributor negotiations, pricing architecture, retail strategy, consumer activation, and trade marketing ROI. I step in where the gaps are, protect your margins, and build strategies that move cases while proving velocity.

Yes, I have. My career began at Red Bull, headquartered in Southern California where I grew up. At 21, I joined the Ketel One headquarters (owned by Diageo) as an MKTG-contracted employee, gaining firsthand experience inside the world’s largest spirits company. I later worked at Ace Cider within the Anheuser-Busch independent distribution network, partnering with leading AB wholesalers across Southern California. I also held a direct role at Pernod Ricard. These experiences gave me a front-row seat to how global players negotiate, scale, and defend margin. Today, I apply that insider knowledge to help brands protect capital, build credibility, and execute with precision.
Yes, I am open to W2 employment, full time consulting, or fractional leadership roles, and I am comfortable signing a non-compete if the timing and structure align. That said, public alignment with a company is not something I give lightly. My professional network opens doors with distributors, retailers, and capital partners, which directly impact enterprise value. Because that type of endorsement drives measurable traction, I now require meaningful compensation (capital, equity or both) to reflect the market impact and strategy execution I bring.
I have partnered with Young’s Market, SGWS, RNDC, Breakthru, Johnson Brothers, and dozens of independent distributors across the U.S. I believe it is best to treat wholesalers like your #1 buyer, because they are! The goal is always to keep your brand top of mind within a crowded 3-tier portfolio. That requires walking through purchase orders, reviewing negotiated contracts, aligning incentives inside distributor CRM systems, and ensuring compliance with pricing regulations. This disciplined process helps avoid costly traps like one-sided agreements, inflated velocity claims, misaligned incentives, or wasted trade marketing spend that erode EBITDA. The result is a stronger, more accountable relationship with your distributor team and a clear path to sustainable retail sell-through and enterprise value.
Yes, I am always open to new opportunities where I can bring a beverage-driven lens and perspective into the work I do. To be transparent, I have not yet worked directly for a food brand, a snack company, or products outside of beverages; however, my best-selling book, High Tolerance, is available at multiple national retailers, which demonstrates my ability to drive retail performance in a different category using many of the same principles. While I do not yet have proof of execution in food, cannabis, or other consumer packaged goods, I am confident the frameworks I use (margin protection, distribution strategy, retail velocity, and brand positioning) translate across categories. I would certainly be open to a conversation about applying these strategies in new industries.
Every post comes from real situations I’ve faced with clients, investors, or distributors. I jot ideas in my phone’s Notes app, then reflect on the advice I wish I’d had earlier in my career. I’ve been doing this for over a decade. All of my content is rooted in real-world issues and the problems I’m actually paid to solve. I’ve found that many challenges repeat across the industry. I welcome feedback and questions from real-world issues people are actively trying to solve. You can submit your questions here.
That depends on how much information you prepare. I typically start with a deep dive into your current business status, market position, budgets, five-year vision, sales structure, and pain points. Many people use the first call to ask about my background, which is why I strongly recommend reading my book High Tolerance beforehand, it saves time and gives context.
During the session, I’ll highlight immediate opportunities, share initial insights, and frame what a partnership could look like. Once we identify your goals, KPIs, and existing tools, we can begin building a framework to get you where you want to go.
